More of a "hope this helps" thread than a question.
After cutting up the rear end of he XJ, removing the rear lights, and just leaving some wires hanging in the mean time I couldn't figure out why the Jeep wouldn't start.
no power to the fuel pump;
- hard wired it worked
- feed wires had power
- clipped 12vdc to the feed wires, still no go
- add ground clipped to feed wires VOILA
on the driver side the wiring harness at the back by the lights have a large (10-12g) black wire with an eyelet on it... the master ground it would seem for that harness. even tho the fuel pump harness branches off well before the rear, it shares the same ground.
I searched quite a few threads and was on;
bad CPS, ECU, injectors, etc
all came down to a ground wire un-plugged!
hope that helps someone
