I did a quick search but I can't find anything. I need a litle help please. I got a 91 ho I installed Rusty's spacer and tube. The hose is to big for the tube by a lot. I need an idea how to fix this asap. I'll be watching the baby till my better half gets home but I'll check back later tonight. Need to get this done for a road trip tomorrow and don't want to put the stock setup back in.Thanks

Got any pics?

I don't have that setup, but I have constructed my own more than once. I'm guessing from your description that its rusty's tube that won't fit into your inlet hose/elbow?

How much too small is it?

Edit: its possible they sent you the wrong one. There is one for 84-95's and one for 96+.

Editx2: What's different from yours, referencing this photo?

That's what I ordered and the hose is to big for the tube.

How much too big? This is going to affect my recommendations.

There are small step down 'nozzles' you can buy as plumbing parts off the shelf at Home Depot and other places that will step down from 3" OD (the stock hose is 3" ID) to about 2.5"OD. What size is the outside diameter of the Rusty's tube? If its just a temporary fix, I'd even suggest just wrapping the Rusty's tube in duct tape to build up its diameter and make a snug fit inside the intake hose.

Inside dia of the stock tube with ell is 3.5" the rusty's tube is 3" inside dia. the outside is only 3 1/16"

Inside dia of the stock tube with ell is 3.5" the rusty's tube is 3" inside dia. the outside is only 3 1/16" That's really weird. Maybe its not a stock intake hose?

I would wrap the end of the Rusty's tube with some neoprene or something to increase its diameter. Got any old bicycle tubes lying around you could slice up and wrap around the end of the rusty's tube? You basically just need something to make the rusty's tube a wider diameter to the point that it fits snugly inside your intake tube.

Then I would suggest picking up another intake tube from a wrecking yard or used parts depot and replace yours. I don't think they came from the factory in any size larger than a 3" ID, but stranger things have happened...

Good luck...

nothing better than buying something new from rustys and having to modify it to work right.

there are two different types of intakes from rustys, there are different ones for 95 and down and 96+ jeeps. did you get the right one?

nothing better than buying something new from rustys and having to modify it to work right. That's a good point, but in this case the Rusty's product isn't the problem, his 'stock' intake hose is the problem. It shouldn't be 3.5" ID, something's weird there...
