If I don't drive my '92 , the battery will drain in 1 or 2 days max. I searched the forums and found out about the fuse pulling test.

I have disconnected the pos. battery cable, but when I connect the DMM between the post and the cable, it immediately blows the fuse in the meter. Yes this is the first time I have used one, but I think I'm doing it right. I think it was on the 200M setting. Am I right or wrong in what I am doing?

Sounds like you are doing it correctly, provided that it's the 200mA setting.

Chances are, though, that it's more than 200mA, which is why the fuse is blowing.

Most meters will have an additional setting, usually 10Amps. Also, this usually requires moving the red lead to a different jack on the meter.

p.s.

I don't recall the IOD(ignition off drain) current, but I would imagine that it should be something like 10mA.
