Will a radiator for a 93 to 01 bolt in to my wifes 89 to convert to open system

Yes. You will need the radiator, cap, an overflow hose, and a recovery bottle.
You will need to clean up the rats nest at the pressure bottle/coolant control valve (aka heater control valve)/heater hoses.
Some simply delete the coolant control valve by plugging the vacuum line and hooking the hoses directly to the heater core.
Some use the later model heater control valve.
Some use copper line and solder up their own plumbing.
Do a search for "closed to open cooling conversion" on Google or
and there are a number of write ups.
