Well after a flawless departure from SLC, my return trip from LAX was quite a cluster****. I missed the baggage drop off by 1 minute, so I was sent to a different rep to get it on the plane. I wait in line to be told I'm in the wrong line and get sent further down. Get to the next counter..sent to the wrong one again. I finally get a supervisor and yell, but by then it's too late.
So they rebook me on Delta for the 6:30AM flight. OK no prob, go check my bag and find a nice quiet spot to camp in the terminal. WRONG! Apparently you cannot check in more than 6 hours early (I havent flown in like 10 yrs). OK no problem, 6 hours before would be 12:30 I can hang out. WRONG! Apparently ticketing and checkin closes at 12-12:30. I was there at 12:45...The Desk reopens @ 4:15am. So I wait around in the checkin area until the the joint opens, wait in line behind about 20 clueless Marine Recuits to find out United screwed up my ticket on Delta and I have to wait 30 minutes and pay an extra $100 to delta even though United said it was free. OK after getting all my ticketing straightened out, run up to security. For some reason me, in my camo hat, shorts and a nice beard growing, I get picked for the "Random" physical searches. After being "felt up" by a nice latino gentleman, I'm told I can have my shoes back and continue on.

After all that, I did make the 6:30 flight, landed early in SLC, and now here I sit at work. Sorry for the big rant!

Yeah, unless they screw up. I waited in ONE stinking LINE for 9 hours last winter in Little Rock. the TSA bastards even got after me for sitting on their bench when I finally got close ("this is supposed to be a sterile table, you can't sit here").

The only decent TSA guys I've seen were in Alaska, but the F&G guys up there are bad enough to make up for them. And then some.

Number two: my daughter had a similar experience when she drove to Portland with a friend and stayed for a few days. She had a one way ticket to fly home and when she got to the airport they decided my 5'6'', 105 lb daughter was a major security risk. They took her to a separate room, searched everything she had. Patted her down, finally let her go just in time NOT to get on the plane she had a ticket for. She had to ride a bus back to her friends place and try again the next day. I was PISSED when I learned about all this crap! And the crappy thing is there aint a thing you can do about it. Oops, didnt know I was going to go off for this long. Seeya fellow Jeepers.
