After my jeep passes smog I will be making my own cold air intake, whats your guys thoughts on this throttle body? Would I have to mess with any sensors or anything? i have a 89 renix

Looks like a direct bolt on. You may have to open up the intake to match.

No port matching necessary as the intake manifold bore is already 60mm. Matches this TB perfectly. I've installed this particular throttle body on both my MJ and XJ with excellent results. Your original TB is a 52mm bore and the HO is 58mm bore. You'll like it. Uses stock sensors and linkage etc. Just get a new gasket when you do the job, set the TPS, and go.

I had Leigh bore the tb for my 88 mj and the tb for my 95 m3(68mm). Look into the renix high-alt CKP to get additional advance(was ~$37 from amazon).

Is there throttle body for a 91-01 any good? would I see any performance gains in my 2000?

I haven't used one but others here have with good results. The neat thing is that you can order the upgrade TB, install it, and then return your core for a quick refund. No down time...

I had a huge 63mm bored one on my last xj, and I'll tell ya first hand if you're looking for "performance gains" stop looking.
If however, you would like a little better throttle response and more touchy pedal feel - by all means slap on a bigger throttle body. Power gains are so negligible you might as well say there are none. It does FEEL more powerful however, now that it reacts to your foot faster.

I believe the most gain is on the Renix models which were originally equipped with a 52mm TB. Jumping from 52mm to 60mm can definitely be felt. OTOH, jumping from 58mm to 63mm on an HO would likely not be felt as much.

If this is true, get a hold of Jeff Leigh at www.strokedjeep.com (http://www.strokedjeep.com) and get a throttle body from him. You won't be disappointed.
