I was wondering if anyone knew the size of the stock downpipe on a 97 XJ with the 4.0L? I want to put in a flex pipe and they have a few decent priced ones at autozone but I don't know what size to buy.

Damn, I always hate to trust my memory anymore, but I'm thinking 2.5" back to the CAT, and the exhaust is 2.25" from the CAT out the back, but I have a 90 and it might be different.

i think joe is close. on my 99 (i THINK it should be the same), from the header to the pre-cat/resisnator is 2.25" and from that to the cat is 2.5"
