Help !

Hi, I bought a '92 Cherokee a few months ago, and something has been dring me crazy. Right above the rearview mirror there a little black bubble type of thing, and no one seems to know what exactly its purpose is ....any one have any ideas?

It the receiver for the remote keyless entry system. That vintage used an infrared remote. My '91 has it, and it works, but you just about need to be touching the Jeep. Not a lot of range.

Either that, or it's an alien mind control device. :-)

If your next question is "how do I get a repalcement remote?", forget it. They're expensive and need programming.

Aftermarket systems are cheap, come with 2 remotes, control more that the OE systems, and are RF based for greater range.

If that's not your next question, well, uhh... ummm... never mind.
