Questions about Engine swap between 96 and 94 XJ

I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4.0L, 4WD that has an engine that is kaputt. I found a 94 model engine with the same specs. Should it swap over pretty easily? My hubby and bro-in-law will be doing the swap and want to know of any advice you may have.

Welcome to NAXJA!

You shouldn't have any problems with accessory brackets, etc.

Use all of your 96 sensors, yours is OBDII and the 94 is OBDI.

Remove the crank sensor before pulling the engine--they get broken a lot during removal/installation of engines.

Good luck.
