Parts List - fitment Q?

I'm going today to look at a NP231 out of a 96 TJ to match up to my "about to be swapped" AW4 into my 1988 MJ. Also I'm looking at his upper & lower control arms to go in to the same truck.

Will these parts work??

Also depends on the trans from the donor TJ,it will be a 23 spline but the spline length needs to be checked also.

The AW4 is a 92. 23 spline. My current TC is fine, it's just a 21 spline and the "new" TC is a 23 spline. Would it be easier to just swap out the input shaft on the current TC to a 23 spline? He only wants $50 for the 23 spline NP231.

The trans on the donor is (was) an AX15. So there may indeed be some difference in the length, but the AW4 is replacing a BA-10/5.

The rear diff is a 44 and so I may need to alter/swap the driveshaft length. Have a driveline specialist in town, so once I get the AW4 and the TC in there I'll likely take it to him to fine tune. At this point the MJ is up on blocks to install the front springs, shocks, trac-bar and sway bar discos. So, I'm not in a HUGE hurry as this a project and I don't need it to get to work.

Well, for $50 I would grab that other t-case just for parts.

You know the condition of your t-case, so swapping the input shaft would give you a known good box. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Good luck.
