Question on A/C Compressor Replacement

MRFD715

NAXJA Forum User
So the beaing went out on my ac compressor and it pretty much ruined the whole thing. Can I put on a different compressor and just run it without being charged, or will that damage something? I'm a little short on time and cash so I'm just trying to figure out how to get by for now. I want to get the system working again at some point so I don't really want to delete the ac. Thanks.

You can install a new one without charging it. Don't run the compressor keep the clutch unplugged. Get the system evacuated if possible having the internal parts exposed to air for a long period can be bad.
