What do you have and how do you like it? I've had the wants for one for a long time. I had a stash I was hoarding up for a welder but, I really have wanted an inline for a long time. I've taken a liking to the Traditions Pursuit Pro XLT, 50 cal of course. I like the idea of being able to shoot long distances and play around with the loads, fine tuning it. Here in IL as far as long guns go, it's a slug gun or a muzzleloader for whitetails. Any suggestions on a good muzzleloader? This one's great, what ever you do don't get this one, type stuff? No, I am not buying an Encore. They are too damn expensive. Probably only spend $450ish.
Please don't turn this into a traditional vs. modern muzzleloader debate. Not worth the argument.

when I ran the rifle range at the local BSA camp we had a black powder shoot every week.
Tim had a nice 50 cal inline. He shot sabotted 45 cal slugs. It was amazing accurate with 60 gr target loads, and packed quite a wallop with a 100 gr hunting load.
I wouldn't mind having one, and isn't the black powder season longer?
anyway, I've not got anything specific to contribute, just sharing my experience.

only with the black barrel. CVA Optima Pro, with fluted barrel and the long one. I would not trade my baby for the world. 200 yard gun, heavy, but accurate as hell. shot 5 deer with in 3 years, forget the shotgun at home :D.

I hunt with a Thompson Center Omega and love it, but if I had to buy another one it would be the new Savage Model 10ML-II that uses smokeless high-power rifle powder.

I have a T/C Encore set up in a .50 Cal.
Im looking to sell it too. Not because its a bad gun in anyway. In fact its the most pleasant Smoke stick I have ever shot but I want another Varmint gun.

i have a CVA kodiak magnum (with the pivot block action) all mossy oak camo. very smooth, flat shooting, predictable, use up to 150 gr, etc. ran about 375 IIRC 2 years ago. look at new frontier (CVA made clones...think chevy vs. gmc) for less at some wal marts. the wife has one with the bolt action, and aside from the stock its the same as the cva equiv. i dont really like the bolt action personally because its annoying to load the primer without the tool.
get the kodiak model cva, you wont be disappointed, and unless you get a highly optioned one (camo's, SS, lam stock, thumbole, and so on) you you can keep some dough in your welder piggy bank.

Looks like I'm gonna go with a TC Omega, .50cal, Mossy Oak Break-up, Thumbhole, Stainless. Dick's Sporting goods has them on sale for $399. That's almost $180 cheaper than I see around here for the same gun. Kinda hard to pass up. Hoping to get it gnat's assed in before the 2nd firearm season.
Just like this one only MOBU:
