Who's going to see it today? Looks like a few buddies and myself will be catching a showing tonight. Despite a lot of nay-saying about the new Bond (Daniel Craig) I really like the new, more realistic direction the series is taking. No more invisible Aston Martins that can drive on the ceilings of ice palaces....

I can't wait. I've always resented the impossibility that was not included in Fleming's books. Hopefully its the start of a brave new Bond...

Casino Royale was actually the first Fleming book I read, and as you say, I look forward to a return to the spirit of the books.

The original was a mite lacking, hope this one is better.

Awesome movie, one of the best I'd have to say. Much more realistic than the last several. This movie could stand alone without being a bond movie, which many of the others just wouldnt be able to do. Daniel Craig does a great job. Think were going to see it again sometime next week :D

I'd rather see Sean Connery back in the saddle.

Which, the MWC or the closet part :D :D :D

I read Dr No when I was 13 and was hooked, when From Russia with Love came out I got a AR-7 for my 14th birthday. But then my dad also got me started on sci-fi when I read Under Pressure by F Herbert and was a major influence that got me into submarines when I went in the Navy. Plus my grandfather who was on the Squalus when it sank the first time off long island, he got off and survived unlike the second time when it went down with all hands but he was out of the navy by then.

Drama, where ??? I can honestly say that in the 8 years I've used this forum from the outset when I found the first one in 98 I have never seriously berated anyone...and when I do make inane or silly comments it's ALWAYS tounge in cheek. Very few things outside of work, home and family do I take seriously, specially on the net...
We used to have drama in the house several times a day, then my daughter went away to college... :D :D :D :D The drama was cheaper thats for sure :gag:

Don't mind me, I'm cleaning the cellar and shop in that neverending struggle of 'keep or thowaway'...any excuse to stop.. keep as usual is winning.

Well, that was great! I thought it was just what needed to happen to the James Bond series. Job well done.

For those of you who've read the book, they actually do a version of 'the torture scene' from the book. :shiver:
