ill bve running a 6" full traction kit with 35s what do you think i should go with 4.56 or 4.88? its a 95 xj 4.0 with an 30 front and 8.25 rear.

4.56 is lowest gear for a xj8.25

you should upgrade axles.
35s and 4.56 /4.88 on a 27 spline 8.25... meh... not the greatest combo.
especialy if you plan on locking it..

well i forgot i have a ford 9" in the back yard out of a EB so i willl run that. and yeh i will lock it front and rear. i used to wheel my EB pretty hard with a dana 30 and 35s and it held up.

Swap in the new axle and get 4.88's, you'll be much happier. I ran that setup for a year before I swapped in my Waggy 44's and put in 5.38's. 5.13's would be better if I ever got on the interstate, but I don't like to drive over 70MPH anyways. If I go to 37's or 38's I'm already geared for it.
