Several people have done the conversion, though it isn't real easy. Search for 2500

That guy looks really disapointed in his ugly jeep...

he should be. it looks like crap. the front end looks stupid, and when you look back and see it's an xj, it's like a kick to the nuts.
furthermore, paying to import the chinese version of an american masterpeice... its just wrong.

i'll stick to my stock looking setup, its alot easier to find in the JY after you smash it with a rock or 12 =)

The original XJ body work is nice. I like my late version XJ exactly how it is. Might get some UK/AU tail lights for it in the future.
I want to get a earlier XJ to customize so I'll probably buy the parts first..
I had to organize my pics because I reached my limit but heres the pic I posted earlier about getting the five slot BAW or GROZ grill. This is the grill I want if I build one.:firedevil

Why do you want the 5 slot grill?
FWIW I think the 5 slot is the only version being currently produced, and as you mentioned is only sold under the GROZ/BAW name, no longer Jeep.

I think the 2500 stock looks like crap. However, if it has a winch bumper etc. added onto it like mine, then i think it looks really slick.

the answer to your question is yes, there are plenty of people interested in that front end. If you search "2500 conversion" you'll find a list of people that want those parts. Also, if you can match the price list shown above then you are bound to attract more business. Furthermore, since you will be receiving a large sum of money from using this site for orders, I suggest becoming a NAXJA vendor or at least a member.

I'm from china and lived in russia so for me it would be kinda cool to have a foreign car from those places. It will always be an American ride no mater how I reskin it because a car is nothing without an engine.. If I was to use it as a daily driver I probably would go with a 7 slot.

Nice ride! Is it a 97? I got a 97.. Did you redo the rear, weld and replace hatch?
I was gonna ask if there were any green 2500s. I would think so since it's a jeep.. The only colors I've seen are silver, white and black on the showroom pics. And tiantian's burgundy.

I hear yeah, but a 7 slot grille is synonymous with modern-day Jeeps.
It would be near-sacrilege to scrap it.

It's a 99. Best year of the XJ IMO. The rear has this (http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=XJRUPGRD97&Category_Code=XJArmor). I used the factory Chrysler PG-8 color (forest green pearl)
