I picked up a few of these LED strips from a thread on EXPO (http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36971) a while back. I recently got them installed in my Jeep and I'm very pleased with them.
I pulled the light out of the drivers map light and wired both lights up to it, one attached just behind the dome light up front and the other on the molding just inside the hatch. I used the sticky backing that comes on them and they work wonderful.
Once again, very pleased, would definitely recommend them.

How weather proof are they? Would they work under the jeep for rock lights? They look pretty bright.

jeez those are expensive.

i bought sealed LED strips from ebay 2 years ago for $5 shipped for a pair and they still work and were under my jeep the whole time.

I'm assuming the lighting color is for retaining night vision ;)

There has actually been a move to green, but light intensity destroys night vision most of all.

Looks cool though!

Not feelin it. But then again, I a lot of people don't feel a lot of what I do to mine. To each his own. I applaud the mod bug.

I like them, if there was only a "good" way to mount them externally, I would def use them as Rock lights. A nice Low amperage draw.

I have a set of white(ish) leds that are just autozone brand. My installation isn't nearly as clean as yours but it really does light the jeep up a helluva lot more.

They came in foot long strips with 3m adhesive on the back. you're able to cut them down to any size you want at an indicated cutting section - then you just solder on some new wires and you have another set, put some silicone around the soldering and you have some waterproof lighting.

I see no reason why these wouldn't work for rock lighting other than the fact that they might get dirty and not be as bright. Would be cool to see a rig with full leds all around the outside facing down, but that also makes me think of underglow and how lame I think that is
