Warn XD9000 older models?

I found this winch for sale, advertised as a xd9000, but the motor looks different than the current xd9000 that is sold. Does anyone know the story with this older style, and are there any drawbacks?

looks like my old one..no draw backs...the heat sink on the outside of the LP warn xd9000 went away in the late 90's I think?

that could be an HS9500. The heat sink looks just like my HS9500. I recall the XD9000 heat sink looking noticably different than that.

I believe the older motors have less horsepower than the newer motors. Not sure how that affects performance as they are both rated at the same pulling power.
