Interior Light wiring Question

I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport with a single interior light.
When I removed it has a control board in it. What does that control?

Also I have a overhead console out of a ZJ its marked XJ ZJ I would like to mount that in my XJ this also has a control board in it.
This has the compass and temp readout.
Has anyone mated this two together? also help with the existing wiring color codes would be helpful to wire together.

probably the RF remote entry board

search for overhead console wiring information, it's here somewhere. basically you need a harness for the sensor data and computer signalling. I'm not sure if the busses are compatible for ZJ and late-model XJ, don't have either and don't remember, but it's covered somewhere.
