I need some help.

So last week my 89 jeep started to act up. In my opinion it sounds worse than a volkswagon bus. It is sputtering and smells like it is running rich. I have searched for some time and believe it is my tps. I don't have enough money right now to fix something else if i replace the tps and it is not it. It starts up, runs and idles. Basically whenever I give it any amount of gas it sarts sputtering. After 10 or 15 minutes of warming it up and or driving it around the sputtering will go away and it will be fine. Any help would be great. Thanks.

OK,before you replace it,spend the money on a shop manual and a cheap digital multimeter.The TPS is easy to check and you might save yourself some grief.You might also want to check coolent sensors if it runs bad cold,thats not as easy,but if you know someone with a scan tool it will only take a few minutes.After rereading your post I would have the coolent sensor checked first,hope this helps,let me know
