Okay, so I have been doing my lift and swapped in a 8.25 rear axle, which does not allow for the ABS system to be hooked up (at least not easily). I put longer flex lines on and while looking for some torque specs, I ran across a section that talked about bleeding an ABS system. Oh crap! You have to bleed it like normal then hook up a diagnostic tool to the computer and run the series of things to purge the pump of air. After that you are to rebleed them again.

Here's my problem. I have pulled all the sensors out, the fuses and relay. On top of that I don't have the diagnostic tool to plug into the computer that will cycle the ABS system.

What options do I have and what has everyone else done. Keep in mind this is a 2000 XJ ABS system which is different then the earlier systems.

HELP!!!!

BTW, I did do a search and only found a couple posts directly related to my problem but they were back from 2004 and not sure if still current. Thanks.

The way I understand it is you need the only DBR scan tool to blead the ABS pump, and solenoids. If you didn't let the fluid run out of those you should be good with a normal bleading.

a normal system bleed will still work it just wont bleed the abs. if u didnt unhook the lines to the abs module than u shouldnt need to bleed it. but if u want u could still take it to a dealer and have them bleed the abs with the DRB, only takes a min.

I replace all the flex lines and swapped rear axles so I emptied the system so I didn't have fluid everywhere, since this was not just a quick part swap. I am assuming if the system is dry, the ABS pump bleeds down as well, correct?

It's looking like I'll just pull the pump and build some lines to take the place of the pump. Just a PITA to do.
