American Expedition Vehicles has FINALLY announced they'll be selling the kits to build the Brute. Ever since I saw one (before I'd even driven an XJ) I've wanted one of these:

I'm still waiting for final pricing to be released, but this might be the beginning of the end for my Cherokee. :(

so, it's a comanche with a TJ front end?
why not just get a comanche, lift it five inches and toss 35's on it?

only 500 per year to be built. They're going to be marketing the kit for sale by itself to convert your own TJ. I'd probably go find the most clapped-out TJ I could find and start from there.
Hmmm, I did just buy a '05 Rubicon Unlimited this morning.... :shhh:

An extended cab Brute would definitely be interesting.. but I doubt they'll be doing conversions for those just yet.

'07 LWB Wrangler I'm guessing.

That's what I was guessing, too. That's absurd since the 07 isn't even the same platform... :D

I don't blame you. That conversion is just plain ol sexy. It may be as close to the Gladiator as you can get. I likes.

Note how longer and wider it is. Also the higher "Safari" roof. One of those with a 6.1 Liter Hemi would be interesting.... :D

I'll buy your XJ when you decide to go brute.
But looking at it, you could build your own for pretty cheap. Just start collecting parts and fittting/fabbing for a while. Then when you are ready for the spit and polish, take it to a hot rod shop for final assembly. I guarantee it would cost less than buying one, and it would be more unique than buying a kit.

That bed would make a nice trailer body and it would have the added benefit of not ticking off eagle by chopping up an MJ...
