Type F Vs. multi purpose atf

I was just curious what the difference is between the two. I haven't seen the type F in a few years. Thanks, Joe

Type F is ONLY to be used in older ford transmissions. That is all you really need to know about it (unless you own a late 60s or early 70s ford i suppose). More detailed info can be found with some googling, but as far as the XJ is concerned keep the FA Far Away

"Universal" transmission fluids are a different matter, and you should check the manufacturer's website for compatibilities/claims made.

I use Type F for cleaner. Good stuff.
