The hardest part would be trying to crank the harmonic balancer and push out the gasket at one time.

2 people make this job an ease.

my 88 was a 2 piece, renix.
my 93 was a 2 piece, ho.

i did one in a 93 two weeks ago, took about 4 hours, and it was the first one we had done, so it was not bad. Really not that hard of work.

One thing the thread we read did not say was jack the jeep up as far as your floor jack will let you, put stands under the uniframe behind the tires, take the tires off, and the track bar, remove nuts from top of shocks, and stand on front hubs, this will get that axle down far enough to get the pan off with out having to jack the motor up.

sounds like a good time to put my coil spacers in at the same time

no no no. Turn the the wheel to the right.... or was it left. Anyway, the pan hits the bolt for the steering damper. Then you also have to raise the axle. This does not make sense until you realise that he front axle actually moves in an arc that when fully extended decreases the distance from the axle to the bell housing/inspection plate. When you raise the axle, the pan will fall out without too much fuss.

ok, we tryed that, and was not able to get it out, and we had a 2 inch bb on the jeep. maybe we did not try hard enough, it was easy enough to do it the way we did it anyway, only took a couple of extra min.
