I have a 2001 Xj and need to replace the center dome light. I can't find any slots to pry it off with.

I'm afraid if I go erking on this thing I'll brake it.,

So how do you pop that center lens off the front dome light?

seriously though, it SHOULD just pop off with a good squeeze/yank.
the one in my 89 xj limited has popped off so i put it on the rear light (that doesnt want to work).

the older style comes off when you squeeze the sides, don't know if the newer ones are the same or not

To remove the whole housing, I believe it slides back then down. As for the center part there are two little slots for you to get something in there to pry it off.

x2 If you put both hands in the front of the housing and push towards the rear of the vehicle it will slide off the mounts and you have the whole bezel off... To take off just the clear plastic piece do as beraad44 said.
