View Full Version : ZJ and XJ drag link question
confused

I'm replacing front end parts on my '91 XJ. I know that the ZJ V8 tie rod and TREs are an upgrade to the XJ. What about the drag link? Is it beefier than the XJ also or about the same?

sorry to revive this old thread but Im gonna replace the sterring tie rod and draglink. I have three part numbers for AutoZone for the draglink. For XJ: ds1238 and for ZJ: ds1310 & ds1311. any body know the difference?

Based off of the above posts, I would go with DS1238...
That just shows me a TRE. Are you talking about the draglink itself?
Basically you just need the ZJ tie rod and XJ drag link.
If you need a TRE for your XJ drag link then get the XJ TRE number.

Find my post in a longer thread about the ZJ steering. I put measurements in my post about them.

looking a little deeper on autozone it shows ds1238 is actually the drag link, but called "rare parts/tie rod end"...

yup-- DS1238 will do the trick (and is a thicker upgrade for 1990 and earlier steering-- Damn Renix steering junk)
