I am removing my nonworking A\C out of my 90 xj I need help rerouting the belt
I thought I saw a pic somewhere that had the Alt. in place of the A|C unit
I NEED HELP :banghead:

in your situation, i'd recommend moving the alternator up to fill it's place...

if you were gonna just pull the a/c.... the routing stays the same, you buy an 'idler pulley' its basically a dummy bracket/pulley for models without A/c, but as you said, the a/c fits nicely!

make sure the pulley sits perfectly flat, 1 washer off can cause your waterpump bearings to go out. i had an extra bracket, (the one that mounts to the engine, it has an idler pulley and the a/c mount on it) so I mounted that to the bench, mounted it all up and aligned it, then moved it onto the jeep. i used a 77" belt, pn# 770k6.

once you get it somewhat bolted up, it becomes obvious what needs what. but its way easy.

You can also get the non-A/C bracket from the dealership, that's what I did.
