2 Door half door and window build, lots of pictures.

I'm screwed now...The wife saw this and she want's her door to look the same...Thanks..

VERY,VERY nice work sir..So how much to do mine?

Scott,

2 or 4 door, and how much money did you say you had ?
If 2 door I have the patterns, If 4 door follow instructions closely and just reduce by 1/3 . :looney:
If the price was right I may consider. :jester:

Very well done.

a soft window xj!!! that looks great!

wish I could have full softdoors somehow.

The hole is actually big enough to get in and out without opening the door...

You must be a lot mor limber than I am! :D

It is the only one...

It is one-of-a-kind, and like I said, the craftsmanship is amazing.

I've thought about something similar (simpler, cruder!) to serve as a frame for my lexan sheets. No point in making mine that pretty, though. I'd just tear em up anyway...

in the original write up- why not add part 2 as a second post instead of making a new thread for part 2?

Stewie,

As I said in the original, I exceeded the picture allowance for one thread, hence part deux.

Monkey,

If you factor in the 6" across the whole door and the fact the vent window and door mirror area was removed the opening in a fair size.
Yes I am still pretty limber even for my age.

I keep reading this.. Man you did a get job and i see me doing the same thing..BUT, the wife asked about the mirrors... I'll have to change it just a little so she can have her stock mirrors...Yes this is a must, it is her jeep..

Scott

The mirrors were a challenge, at first I was going to add them to the door itself.
Just could not find a location that worked, then the windows became an issue.

I finally settled on the front fenders.
Remember the old Toyota's and Datsun's with the mirrors up on the fenders.
They actually work quite well.
I may even remove the factory mirrors from the second set of hard doors I have.
If you leave that corner of the door alone you will be OK.(Where mirror mounts)
Getting the window to seal and not leak on that leading edge will be tough.
