Wondering why every time I run through somewhat deep puddles (heavy rain type), I get dash flags (check gauges)? Is there something I can do to make the electronics more sealed to the elements? Just to note, I do not have the fiberous underbody engine cover anymore (it fell off long ago). Don't know if that makes a difference...

Thanks,

Buy yourself a bunch of "DIELECTRIC GREASE" and pack ALL of your electrical connections with this.

Also, wrap your wires in groups in wire loom...

The dielectric grease , is a NON CONDUCTIVE, water repelling/waterproof grease that won hurt the electircal connection/current but keeps water out

Can also do this with spark boots!!

One or more of your wires is probably shorting out. A error code scan could probably tell you which one. It could be an ignition wire, spark plug wire, ground wire, alternator/power, etc.
Some auto parts stores will check the codes for free.
You can also try spraying water displacement (WD-40) spray on one or two wires at a time to see if you can isolate the problem.

The engine splash guard would help with this problem, but I took mine off too - it a pain to take it off every time you want to work on stuff.
