bad D44 pinion bearing

So Im pretty sure my pinion bearing is bad in my 44.

Just to double check, I have a whine/growl only when under load. so when my foot is on the skinny peddle it yells at me.

what im actually asking about is do I have to redo the whole diff to change the bearing?

should I re-gear? im not financially in the position to do so, but If it would be incredibly stupid not to do so then Im sure I could swing something.

as always thanks for the help.

Sounds more like carrier bearings, pinion bearings tend to make more noise when you let off the throttle.Your going to have to tear down the entire axle anyway, figure it out when you get there.Make sure to check the backlash and pull a pattern BEFORE dis-assembly!

I dont think Im capable enough to do it my self.
I know about backlash, but I have no idea how or what pulling a pattern is.
so Id likely be having a shop or a friend who can do gears do it.
