weld in tube adapters vs. tapping dom

Going to do a crossover steering setup, similar to what ballistic sells, http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Steering-Kit-34quot-with-High-Misalignment-Spacers_p_1335.html

They sell their kit with weld-in tube adapters, while others i have seen just cut/tap threads into the end of their links.

Any reason to go one way over the other? My welding skills are crap btw. Going 3/4" rod ends with mis-alignment and all that other stuff.

Tapping will be cleaner looking and stronger. My JCR setup is tapped for 1 ton chevy rod ends, super beefy, the TRE's are the same size as my lower ball joints.

if you have the drill and taps (right and left hand thread) then go that route. Otherwise buy the tube adapters, they are much cheaper than taps.

Tube adapters require a larger tube OD to work,since clearance of anything is an issue on an XJ...............
