Can you post a better picture that show the numbers more clearly or just type up the numbers from the ring gear?

How about April Tenth, 1987???
I'll betcha that if you were to count the number of teeth on the ring gear, and count the number of teeth on the pinion gear, and divide the small number into the big number, the answer would be 3.54. ;)

Generally, the last pair of numbers along the ring gear are the ratio.
So, say the numbers are "39 11" just divide 39 by 11 and you get 3.54.
But I agree with Hypoid - the first numbers are usually a date stamp.
You can also look at the flat surface on the pinion gear, sometimes the ratio is etched/engraved there.

Can't you just give the rotate the ring (axle shaft) one full revolution and count the revolutions of the pinon yoke? Always seemed to be the easiest way for me in the junkyards. If the pinion yoke rotates a bit over 4 full revolutions...you got yourself a 4.10/1 ratio. Am I right? Thats the way I always did it when I didn't want to remove the cover.
