Just moved to Sierra Vista and I am looking for a good shop to install some gears for me in my Jeep. Do you guys have any suggestions or anyone local who would like to come by and help me do it? It is my first gear swap and I would like to get it done right so I don't have to do it again.

Lloyds Transmission in Tucson. Very reasonable price, two man shop, about all they do are trannys and axles/springs/diffs. Couple miles off I-10 at Alvernon.

Anything more local? I would prefer someone in Sierra Vista but if those are the closest I was gonna head up that way to buy some parts anyway.

I'm not gonna dis the shops down there because I dont know them. Its not rocket science after all, so I'm sure someone can do a good job. I know one guy who got sold a gold-plated bronco there, but dont know the shop.
Personally, I would find a local to handle mundane/routine stuff. But I would go to TUS for any major systems upgrades. They do more, know what works and what breaks, and have a larger data base.
Lloyd's isnt a glamour shop. But he is meticulous in his work, and winds up fixing alot of other shops mistakes.

Talk to the guys at Western tire on Fry Blvd. They may be able to point you in the right direction. Sierra Vista and Bisbee be my old stomping grounds...
