I know people sometimes drill through the floor in an XJ to secure the emergency brake linkage, as I hear the stock brackets fail and crack off frequently.

If anyone has done this modification, can you snap a few pictures of where exactly you drilled and bolted through the floor?

Thank you!

Take the cable out of the bracket first, and drill in from the bottom. If you drill carefully, you can fit two 1/4 inch bolts through the bracket. The plate on top helps spread the stress. On this Jeep, a 95, there was rust as well as stress cracking.
