After that Noob run and the bent tie rod, Pops and I decided we needed a different approach.....Build it bigger!

The old,

Cutting the new one to length,

Setting up the Lathe,

Centering hole,

Almost done,

Perfect fit!

Think this will hold up to the next NOOB run??

Sorry for all the pics guys, I'm just damn proud of my pops and his work. The tie rod is 1 7/16" solid 4140 Alloy TGP (Turned, Ground and Polished) bored for 1 inch tube inserts. Hopefully I can get it installed tomorrow.

you should get it heat treated after welding, just for that extra bit of strength. any why aren't you running the tie-rod on top of the knuckles?

Clearance issue on the passenger side. It will be fixed real soon. When I first did the steering we ran out of time and never fixed it. With this new tie rod and how large it is, we will definitely fix that and run it OTK.
