Raw steel Prep?

So pretty much need to know how to prep my new Items for auto paint. Gona paint em to match the jeep.

Not sure how to prep the raw steel with al the oil and stuuf on it?
I'm not real body and paint guy. I'll do the prep and a buddy will spray it in his booth!

I would stay away from the WD-40 when it comes time to prep for paint unless you are sure you can get it 100% clean.

I use a 4 inch grinder to smooth out the welds then put a sandpaper disk on it to smooth the welds out for paint. If you are using a paint gun then you can put lacquer thinner in the hopper and use it to deoil the metal and then wipe it down with a rag and repeat until the rag comes up clean, blow it dry and paint. If you're in a hurry you can use alcohol or an alcohol base brake clean to be sure the metal is dry and ready for paint.
