RPM and shifting

ok running a AW4 , 4.5" lift 33's and stock 3.55 gears .. when i leave it in 4th , it gets like 1500 rpm on the highway and if i leave it in 3rd it gets 2300 or so and sounds like it is working less ... anyone ever just sparingly use 4th gear untill they regear ?

yes. 2300 is a great RPM to be running on the freeway. but you really just need to hurry up and regear. 4.56 at the LEAST. I loved 4.88s with 33s.

regear is in december sometime and the 8.25 only lets me go to 4.56 which is what i am gonna regear to ... finally my thought pattern was right

Listen to Brett.....:rtm: ....My advice is to toss the 8.25 and stuff in a 8.8...then you can go to 4.88's and get rear disc at the same time...A good running stock 4.0 with 33's and 4.88's will absolutely shame most of the FS guys...modified or not.
