What do you all think? I'm considering grabbing myself one, I'd get it with the Sport appearance package and all. In red. Just like the one below. I love these things... 400hp ls2 too. :homerdruelsmiley:

im not fond of the fuel tank in the trunk. i know some mercedes have done it, but still it takes away room and makes for a taller center of gravity

I have the '04 (LS1) and love it! The '05 - '06's (LS2) do have 50 more HP and a few other small improvements, but for the prices the used ones are going for these days, you can't go wrong new or used.

The gas tank location does reduce the trunk space over the Holden Monaro's original design, but it isn't THAT bad.

My biggest complaint is the huge ignition key/remote, and the 6sp factory shifter. The shifter is junk, but there's 3 aftermarket shifters for the GTO that get the job done.

The GTO's fit and finish is comparable to the BMW M-series cars, the seats are awesome and the handling is fantastic.

Spend some time on www.ls1gto.com and you'll find all the info you need to help make your decision. If you buy one, be sure to look into the Technical Service Bulletins posted there - you can have the dealership take care of them under warranty if they haven't been done by the previous owner (used).

I really think you'll love the car! :thumbup:
