What is the Yellow box that is behind my dash panel under the steering column?
:geek:It has 2 screws in it that go through the bottom of the dash

I believe it is for the cruise control.

In the 80's models they also had the alarm unit under there too.

Oddly enough, the adjustment screws on the cruise control say "steering". Must be a bad French->English translation somewhere.

Yea "steering" that is what through me off. And then there is a little box with some gears in it looks like a cheapo clock gear or some thing. It was running when I had the lower panel off to mount my CB. Anyone know what that is?

So the clear plastic thing that has the gears in the back of it and sounds like a clock spinning is a maintenance timer? When does it "go off"? Cause this jeep has 243,000 on it and its an 88. So it is long past due for maintenance
