engine swap question

i have a question about swapping engines in my cherokee. i have an 89 with a non HO 4.0 with an auto tranny. im looking at a 93 HO 4.0 motor. im not real experienced when it comes to the computers and such. i know the motor is a direct drop in but the question i have is is what else do i need to swap from the donor cherokee? computer? wiring harness? anything from the auto tranny? any info will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

TAke everything from your old 89 motor and put it on the new 93.

Head, intake, flexplate -----everything.

Then nothing electronic will have to be changed.

You don't have to change the head, but change the distributor, AC mount, and possibly PS mount along with the items mentioned above. Use the early intake/exhaust style gasket.It's very straight forward.
