Skeet shooting, where to go without getting in trouble?

Just got a skeet launcher so now my shotgun is good for more than home defense. Anybody know the skinny on where I can legally shoot for free? Any info helps. Thanks!

I go this spot out in Leucerne valley have been there maaany times never been in trouble, just in the middle of the desert, its right next to a lake bed.. ill google map it or something for you

They reopened the range at Orozco Ridge in Cleveland National Forest last October.

I was up there a few weeks back. Nice spot. Has 5 stations, and each station could accomodate 1-4 parties of shooters. Some stations allowed pistols/rifles, some allow shotguns, and some allow both.

I went on a Monday, and it was surprisingly crowded, so I suspect it would be full on a weekend.

Also, Orosco Ridge Road, which would be the shortest route, has never been open in all the times I have been in that area inthe last 2 years... that's why the route goes through Ramona instead.

Not free, but P2K has a bitchin trap/skeet range

I skeet shoot a lot. We go to the designated shooting area in the mountains called In09 which is a fire tail that runs from highland, Ca all the way through Big Bear, Ca and ends near Forest Falls.

We also found a much better spot off a dirt road across from Hesperia lakes in Hersperia. The area is called Honda Valley I think.

Have fun, we have three skeet throwers and spend all day shooting. Maybe we could get a run together sometime that ends with a little shooting.
