d35 to 8.25 swap (DS length)

I drive a '92 2wd 4.0/ax15 with D35 rear. I'm thinking about finding an axle from an auto equipped XJ w/3.55 gears. If I happened to find a chy 8.25, would my driveshaft need to be longer or shorter? By how much?
