I am going to go wheeling at Reiter Pit on Sunday the 26th for anyone who is interested.
My plan was to run several trails, probably Lake Isabella, Sac-Up, and possibly the Wall (is it still open?).
Anyone interested?

If my Jeep is done, I'll try to make it.
And just for the Record, Reiter Pit, is the gravel quarry below the main parking area at Reiter Trails. Not trying to bust your balls, we at RTW (Reiter Trails Watch) are trying to create a positive image for the area.
Thanks, and Happy Wheeling

Karl probably knows better, the Wall is open through the woods but block before you get on the little road. Does that make sense?

Yes, Thanks. So you can get out to about the dry waterfall area (sharp left turn?)?
What about the "Tight A$$" trails? Are they both still closed?

Sorry!! Karl, you are correct. I guess I need to work on making sure I understand the correct "names" for each of the trails and place.
On that note. I noticed a new rock garden at the bottom of Isabella, and what looks like some new trails up there? Also, where is the "goal post" obstacle at?

The goal post is on Sac Up, IIRC.
I may be in for this. I'd REALLY like to go to SL and TSF for the whole weekend, but I'm really doubting I'm gonna be able to make that happen. This may be my best bet to get some wheeling in.

Tight ass is closed. The wall trail is also closed that the "uphill turn" that parallels the Index Wall itself.
The rock garden at the bottom of Isabel is a blast. I spend a few minutes and run it every time I am there.
The GOAL POST is an obstacle on Sac-up. It is two trees you have to drive your rig straigt up and through. Kind of like kicking a football through a goal post.
I'm gonna try and make this. I got a lot of work getting my dash in my TJ torn out today. Tomorrow we start bending tube for my cage.

Where is this Rieter place? Is anybody plannin on being there Friday, the 24th? I've got a buddy that just got a built zj and we were thinkin about trying Evans, it'll be his first time, but if nobody's gonna be there, I'd rather go where everyone else is. Sounds like it might just be a Sunday thing though...

I'm thinking of Evans Friday, and maybe Reiter sunday or maybe even Tahuya on the quad.

Cool John, Friday would work for me, if you're gonna be at Evans. I've got my buddy Derek(ackattack?), he just started posting on PNW, then my future brother and father in law will be along for their first time offroading. And, if the stars are ALL aligned, my fiance will be with me too :) Derek's rig is set up, but he's a fairly new wheeler. Anyway, we're shooting for Friday at Evans, so if that'll work for you too John, that'd be awesome.

I plan on meeting in the main gravel parking lot at 9:00am. Probably be leaving the parking lot before 9:30am.
I plan on running up Lake Isabelle Trail.
Come back down Lake Isabelle and play on the rock garden at the bottom.
Run Sac Up.
Then run what is open of the Wall trail if there is time and interest.
My brother will be meeting us out there probably between 11:00 and 12:00.
We will be on Channel 4 for anyone who doesn't hook up with us in the parking lot at 9:00am
Please let me know if you are in or not so that I have a clue as to how many people will be there.
Thanks,
Michael

What kind of tires are you getting?Avanteone came across 5 used SSR's for a song, and was nice enough to pass along the deal to me...and I passed it on to Ian. :)
They look almost exactly like mine, about 60% tread and chewed up in a few spots. But for $300 for 5 tires, how do you go wrong? They should beat the hell out of Ian's current Les Schwab 30.8" specials.
-----Matt-----
Oh, BTW, I'd love to join you guys on this trip, but I'll be out of town visiting some relatives in Colorado. I'm hoping to meet up with a few NAXJA guys while I'm down there for a beer.

Reiter is off HWY 2. Go out to Monroe, head east. Past the town of Gold Bar, you will turn right on Reiter Rd., approx. at mile marker 30, off HWY 2.
If someone breaks, we tow them back to the staging/gravel area, and see what they can do from there. Towing someone off of Isabel would be a biotch, IMO.

Fix what we can, if not fixable get the check book out, because its going to be a spendy tow truck ride home.
So Michael, is this going to be the first snow run of the season? Sleet and snow would make this VERY interesting. Everyone dress accordingly.
Eli, See you at the dutch kup, i'm bringing a buddy or two riding along we'll be there 8 ish.

Eli, I think your list is good. I am not sure if I will be at the dutch cup or not.
As far as getting home if something happens. It is VERY unusual that we can't fix something at least enought to get it home, tow it with another vehicle or make due somehow or another. My trailer will be there (but I plan on keeping my rig on it:)
I don't plan on seeing much snow up there. I expect this to be my last "non Snow Run" of the year. In fact, I have decided to leave the front locker out till spring specifically because I would prefer not to have it in for the snow runs.
Look forward to seeing you guys up there.
You can add my brother (Marc) to the list, but he will be late.

Yes I made it home, Eventually:)
There was at least 6" of snow on the ground when I got home. Towing a 20' 7k trailer in that much snow without trailer brakes is not a good idea. I made it home with NO issues but was driving slow (If my wifes Sub wasn't 4x4 I don't think there is any way I would have made it home).
I started the day on my own (because all of you who bailed!!!!!!!). I called my brother and told him where I was going and where we could meet up when he got there.
I ran up Isabelle on my own. The snow did make some of the more technical rock areas a little more difficult but not too difficult. I got to the bridge and the snow was heavy and decided to turn back (very little traction on all of the larger rocks). On my way back down I made the mistake of trying one of the new trails near the bottom (VERY Sweet trail, but not to be on your own). After making it almost all the way through (very narrow tree's, lots of mud) I had to turn back and go back through all of the narrow spots again. It was a VERY cool trail, but a little too stressful all on my own!!
I met up with my brother, we ran several lines on the rockgarden.
Then went up to Sack-Up. Marc made it through the notch, but rearanged his pas side rear lights and bumper end cap on the way (as well as major air time for 1 driver side tire). I could not get the traction with just the rear tires to get through the rock so I winched a few inches and then drove through the rest with no issues.
The rest of Sack-Up was great. It has been way too long since I have been on it!!!! Wet, sloppy, muddy, very nice. Ran into a issue when Marc almost pitched his jeep over the pas side front corner (It was WAY too close to going over). Ran back down Sack-Up and headed out the main road to go see the Wall trail.
On the way out to the Wall, someone asked for some help rescueing a full size Ram. When we got up to the top of the trail there was several inches of snow and the Ram was pulling a Jason on the edge of the trail. I winched him back on no problem and headed back down and had to rescue a 2wd S10 who must have come off the road 4 times on the way back down to the main road.
After a VERY long drive home, I get back to NO power at home with my kids sitting in front of the fire watching a portable DVD player before "camping" in my office in front of the fire for the night.
I have not had that much fun for a long time!! A little bit of everything, covered a lot of trail and got to spend lots of time with my brother. Will have photos later, but am out of town all this week so they won't be up for a while.
Still no power at the house, and don't expect it for at least another day or more.

That makes sense. I figured I was going in the wrong direction after I turned around and got back out. I was significantly easier on the way out, than on the way in.
I would like to spend more time on it next time, it was a little stressful on my own:rattle:
We couldn't find the goal post on Sac-Up? Can you explain where it is to me in relation to other parts of the trail? That is the one thing I was hoping to do while we were there and didn't get to do.

The goal post is right when you enter the "tight" portion of the trail off to the right. It is a tight squeeze to get back there you if you aren't looking, you miss it.
