So my brother's yahoo account got hacked, the generic "Help!" email went out asking for money, lucky, nobody fell for it. I saw that his account was logged on so I started to chat with him trying to see what I could find out. I didn't get far before he figured out what was going on and told me that he felt bad about what he was doing and said he wants $100 to hand the account back.
I didn't see any way to actually contact yahoo about this kind of thing, is there any way to get it back?

When he tried to fill out the "lost my password" questions yahoo said that the account had been locked for 24 hours and he was not able to get in. My brother found a way to contact yahoo about this so we'll see how it turns out.

felt bad about what he was doing... my ass he felt bad. Plain and simple blackmail/bribery, after trying to scam his entire contacts list for money?
Hope it works out.

He was able to get his account back. After the account was unlocked he filled out the info for a lost password and was able to reset the original password. It scared me a little so I went through my accounts and made the passwords more difficult.
