i looked all over the pace here and cant find what im looking for, I have a 2000 jeep xj and want to know what year a zj alt will fit with the griding i know a bought up grading the cables im going to do that when i going to put the alt in. :rof:

I just read a post tonight with pics, 96-98 V8 136amp iirc. Not sure how accurate that is..

Does the 2000 have the new-style connector?

what do u meen new style connector i dont know what the older xj's have

The 97-99 XJs have a harness that connects two eyelets to ground and two small eyelets to the field signal.
The 2000+ XJs have an oblong connector with two pins on the alternator.
You would have to look at the different year FSM pinouts for wiring colors to see how to adapt the wiring.

You need to get an ALT out of a '98 grand Cherokee. However before you go throwing in a larger ALT you should upgrade all your wiring.

...for those of you who dont need A/C. Mine is a 92, but you get the idea. very simple.
