I made a purchase online on a forum ( some rc parts) for $50. I sent paypal to an email he gave me, he said he'd ship parts the next day. Three weeks later a fistfull of pms and a few emails and no response. Do I have any recourse through paypal to try and get my cash back? This will be my very first sour online purchase of my so far life. Its only fifty bucks but I'm mad!

yep. paypal makes it easy to file a dispute. go to thier page and poke around. in the "My Account" tab there is a link to the resolution center. start there.
hope it works out for ya.

Thanks Grimm . I'll do that if I dont get a reply to the email I just sent the receiver of the $50:
Hello, I am writing regarding paypal transaction# 29f38236***** sent from (*****@telus.net (roussy@telus.net)), I credited your paypal account $50.00 on march 19,2010, for payment to Brad **** for goods I have not recieved as of yet. I would like to give you the opportunity to straighten this out or refund my $50.00 before I take up any action with paypal. I am hoping this is just an honest mistake or an oversight. Thanks Kindly

I would just go straight to paypal. If it's been this long and no dice, they're not going to suddenly change course. I think you have between 30-45 days, can't remember which. Either way, file the dispute with paypal now so he doesn't try to drag it out past the time limit.

AFAIK, PayPal is pretty lax in their dipute resolution if you didn't buy the item on eBay. Good Luck.

As long as you marked the payment for goods you are OK. You can file a dispute and he would have to prove shipping confirmation or you will win. If he had you send the payment as a gift so he can avoid paypal fees then you are screwed.

On my paypal confirmation its marked as (RC parts from Brad ****) the rest was verbal and he was to overnight it. Think that'll do?

I have little tolerance for people that try to rip me off (whether it's for $5 or a $1000).
You should open a dispute with PayPal. State you didn't receive your parts; also state that the seller is refusing to reply to your emails. PayPal will notify the seller a dispute was made against him/her, and it will give them an opportunity to respond (via PayPal). You could give the seller a week to reply before you escalate the claim.. the claim will than be forwarded to an actual honest to goodness person that reviews your case. The odds are very good you'll get your money back.... especially if the seller refuses to communicate with PayPal. I've been through this crap more than I care to remember. Good luck.

If paypal doesnt get you your money back, I would post up on the RC forum. That might pressure the guy enough to either send you the parts, or refund your money.
Or he might just be a scammer and your out $50.

Good Call. I did the same with the first clown that worked on my LED markers. He disappeared with my parts/ stopped replying to my emails, so I tracked him down on a forum he used frequently, signed-up, and stalked the sht out of him until I got my parts back.

Then definitely open a paypal claim as items not received.

Dont know much about RC parts, but its good to know that some people are still decent on the internet. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Its annoying when people have no patience, like this one time my sister got on my Ebay account and bid on 2 "hair straighteners" . well she one both paid for one and never told me jack shit. The 2nd dealer was really pissed, after a week the went to ebay. Ended up working it out when I logged on a month later, and explained that my sister was an idiot on ebay. It was just annoying that they could message me first (it would have notified my by email) instead of think that my lack of activity ment bad ebayer. little different circumstances, but you get the idea.
