Well even with the poor start with the weather this morning we still had great turn out (50+) and the weather came around in our favor for a perfect day. It was great to see some friends and meet a bunch of new ones. It was a wonderful chance to hang out with friends and family, check out each other's rigs and enjoy some good food. Turns out that Murfreesboro was hosting a community event as well complete with baseball games, Fire engine, ambulance, SWAT truck and the National Guard flew in one of their helicopters for the kids to climb in and check out. Our lead chef and SEC President PacificED returned for his duties this year. Accompanied by hie soux chef wingnutooa (the sleeveless lumber jack Joe) they turned out a good amount of burgers and dogs for us all to enjoy.

While the grills were heating up we took a group of the kids over to check out the National Guards helicopter and the ambulance.

After enjoying the bounty of food that everyone brought the kids had a good time collecting their Easter Eggs.

redneck was the lucky recipient of both Most Mods and People's Choice. Some jerk forgot to bring the Long Haul award or redneck would have won that as well.

The swap meet was picked over by many of the members and I saw a lot of parts making their way out to new owners. (Great idea on the swap meet Cottontail)

We then had our raffle for some great prizes brought in by the BOD and again a big thanks to KGP416 for pulling in a great spread of items from local vendors.

What is involved in organizing an event like this?
I figure I will buy a couple packs of dogs and do this, can do it at my apartment complex, have a big playground for the kids, multiple outdoor grills, picnic tables, and about 20-30 spaces all to myself, maybe meet the local NC folks I know we have tons.

I figure plan for 20-30 people, so probably 60 dogs, some chips, lots of soda/water... Can flex the jeeps out on the carwash ramp LOL

If you want to organize an event, pretty much pick a date, pick a time, pick a location....start a new thread "NC Meet and Greet" (or something like that) with the info. People will post up if they can come. Modify as needed to accommodate the masses....party1:

Sounds good. I will do that in the coming months, if I can get atleast 10 members to come, I will be happy, I know I can get 20-30 people to come on my own but they aren't all XJ owners much less members so I wouldn't do that.

If anyone local sees this and is interested feel free to shoot me a PM, we can begin planning an event. The apartments are an option but other areas are welcome in my eyes.
