View Full Version : wondering how much to sell my rubicon moab's tires for and if there's interest?

they are Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs, the size is 245/75/16 and they still have plenty of life left...i guess when i get my new tires on there, i'll have them measure exactly how much is left, but there is a good amount of meat on there. anyone have any idea how much these used tires will go for and is anyone in MA/RI/NH interested?
set of 5...spare is nearly new, rest have lots of life left in them. i don't plan on lifting my xj more than 2" and want to go with a 30" tire that's going to be great in snow around here...i've heard these are decent, and great on rocks with the durawall side protection, but i want a little smaller just because it almost looks out of place on my not lifted rig and don't need such aggressive tires.
i suppose i'll put them on craigslist, here, and jeepforum, i just really don't know how much to ask. thanks for any ideas

I'm not exactly sure how popular that tire size is because I'm sure most people sell those tires already mounted on the ever so popular rubicon wheels. The wheels are the real selling point, but I'm sure you could probably get at least 300 for the tires if theyre as good as you say.

sorry for the delay, with the server pm issues, i was off and on here and missed the post.
i will be going to get new rubber within a week, still deciding on the exact model i'll be getting. i have a buddy locally who's interested but nothing concrete at this point. ny is a little far and i'd prefer local pick up only. let me know if anyone is seriously interested and would want them. email me or reply here since the pm's are temporarily down. thanks

well i'm going to go to town fair tire tomorrow or tuesday, will probably call tomorrow morning to see if they have my choices in stock. before i get on with the selling, anyone have an opinion on the size i should go to? i want smaller than the 245/75/16 that i currently have, but don't want to go back to stock size. it's for a DD that never sees the offroad and the worst terrain i deal with is lots of snow and the occasional flooding roads only.
i've been looking at reviews on tirerack.com and trying to figure out if i should go with 245/70/16, or 235/75/16. i believe the 245/75s come out to roughly ~30.5" but for some reason they seem bigger...any insight or recomendations? not sure if i should go with bfg, dunlop or bridgestones and don't really want to pay more than $100/tire.

Careful...the forum police are going to come see you, this is the FOr Sale forum.....my best suggestion is to search the OEM TEch forum, or maybe the Mod TEch forum) and see what size people are running on a stock DD. When your actually ready to sell your tires (as in, they're dis-mounted and sitting in a pile in your garage), then start a new post, this one is getting off topic.
