Trade 96 Silverado z71 ext cab for XJ

I've got this truck and nothing to use it for. Ended up getting a job where I punch a clock and they supply all the tools and transportation. (preventative maintenence tech at large retirement community). It's got 60k on rebuilt 5.7 vortec. New tires, tow package, nice body, clean interior, runs like a champ. Email or call 719-205-5455 for pics. Or [email protected]. Want to get back into another XJ. Truck blue books at $4600.

PROZAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:roll::moon:

Only because you can't move your ZJ and have been forced into semi-retirement... :wave:

Ha. Looking at a 99' Xj tomorrow. Has some scratches but ohh well. Worth looking at. Just want another toy since I'm only driving 30 miles a day now. No more hauling tools around. BIG thanks to Chris on the good reference!

Rookie....... Without counting vehicles bought to scrap, I could quadruple that list..... :D

Edit: Ok, to play fair, this is my list of vehicles - since age 14 - that I've titled in my name, insured and at least put temp tags on. That's at a minimum what Surf has done with his list I'd imagine.

’78 Cutlass wht/gold
’78 Cutlass brown
’79 Cutlass blue

I'm really starting to regret getting rid of the 99' Xj. It was mostly due to the damn death wobble issue. Thought I wanted another yj and traded, then thought I needed a truck and now I'm stuck with this gas guzzler. FML.

Gas guzzler? My 2000 Silverado gets the same mileage as my stock 99 XJ did. Granted the 5.3 is a more powerful and efficient motor than the 5.7 Vortex was, but its the same 4spd auto and basically the same truck. And my 16mpg avg is a hell of a lot better than that 92 XJ was getting with stock gears and 32's. 1996 was a damn good year for a silverado too, it had the more square body but the same updatedf interior my 2000 has. I really like those years of Chevy truck. I was looking at a 96 3500 w/ 6.5TD at one point. It was a nice truck but I went with a newer 1/2ton for the same price.

I still can't believe you got rid of a Jeep because a little budget boost gave you death wobble. You've been around on these boards long enough and owned enough variously modified Jeeps by now that I would have had more faith in your ability to overcome such a minor issue.

I hope you get a good deal on another XJ and maybe stick with it this time. You're starting to catch up to me on vehicles per year. I'm at over 2 but the number is starting to fall. I have eventually realised the hard way the constantly replating and insuring new cars is not cheap. And lately its become even more pricey.

Goodluck in your hunt.

oops, I forgot my little MJ... :jester:

New plan. Karen got 5k back on her tax returns and wants a new ride... So she's gonna finance a newer grand Cherokee, I'm taking over her payments on the Xj, and selling the truck for 3800-4200, then using that money for new tires, more lift, and some other goodies! It's an 01' Xj with 130k, ready to be built. She still owes 4k on it, and it's worth maybe 4200, so it would be pointless to trade it in. Win, win situation.

Stay out of debt, Jonathon -- trust me.:peace:
