Mint 400

whos going and what is a good place to be on the track to see some good action? i have never been to the mint and was wondering if anyone had any advice

Try the SNORE website - www.snoreracing.net. They have a map of the course and should have some spectator areas set up. Note that the majority of the course is running through closed areas and the BLM will cite you if caught there.

I'll be there, our team is 1706, I'll be co-dawgin the first two laps. I've never been to this particular race before, so I have no input for ya. Thursday night (tomorrow) is a big car show/crowning of Miss Mint/80's party on Fremont St.

Tech inspection is Friday, race is Saturday.

I'm up in the air between doing this, or going to the SoCalXJ Jamboree... I'm not sure who I'd stay with out at the Mint though.

this is the NUMBER 1 flaw in state-side desert racing, imho...

johnson valley races are much better, just because of the openness...
getting harrassed, for fallowing racers at a safe distance? thats bullshit. i'll keep spending my vacation days in mexico just for this reason. im not sitting in stands to see a long-course desert race, thats retarded...

thanks for the heads up, 6 months or so ago i was packed ready to go out to primm, and heard about similar conditions, and went to an mdr race instead... its a shame, because obviously score races are in another league.

SCORE races in the states are no different than any Nevada based race, whether it's BITD or whatever...

Does contigency still go down Fremont? I went to the last HDRA Mint 400 and it was cool to walk down Fremont with all the racecars.

Just got back from the mint. We decided to leave Vegas last night around 1 am and drive back to SLC... Fun time being cracked out on Rockstar and barely beating the sun to my house lol. I loved to see all the jeeps kickin some ass.

Well, we pulled off a second place finish with only 6 minutes to spare...

That was the roughest race I've ever been in. I'll post the race report as soon as it's done.
