Need a few guys this weekend to help me do a rearmain seal on an XJ near Seaside Heights, NJ. By help i mean a few who can do most of the labor underneath... i'll help but my back has been an issue of late.

The guy who needs help is a Jeeper, a real nice guy and also handicapped. This is his daily driver.

Can i get a few volunteers? There is no compensation but beers are on me afterwords.

Have yet to do a rear main seal on an XJ. If it's basically just unbolting a few things, replacing the seal and reverse of disassembly, I could probably do it. Would love to get the experience.

I tried doing it on my back once.. took 2 days worth of cussing and throwing tools..
and it leaked worse when i was done...

Since then.. I invested in a hoist and engine stand.. So much easier

What day? If it's saturday then that is perfect. I'm only about 20-25 minutes away. Never done a RMS but willing to give it a shot and give a fellow jeeper a hand.

let me see what i can arrange. I have to work both days this weekend but if i can find someone to cover i will be there. I have done 4 in the past year and they shouldnt take more then a few hours. I even did one flat on my back 3 weeks before i had to have a double fusion on my lower lumbar so i know what you mean about back pain! I will try today to get someone to cover. is the jeep lifted at all and what year is it? will need oil pan gasket and rear main. might need oil pump gasket as well if older, might want to do that anyway or at least get material to replace it. it is much easier to remove the oil pan when you remove the oil pump from some of the older long pickup versions

I'm trying to get this arranged for this coming saturday. This Jeep has a 4+" lift and will be much easier than working on a stocker. The gentleman has air, jacks, and most everything we will need onsite.

My bud Danny (EasyXJer) has stepped to the plate once again to help someone in need. He and i both have done this job several times so that'll cut some time.

If crimson and/or xcaliber can come assist that will complete the manpower need. We should be able to make short work of this.

Plan is to be on the job 7am saturday am.
